The Drop Ball
 
If your pitcher's drop is hanging too much then she might be simply gripping the ball too tight. This is common with the drop particularly when it's an important situation and the pitcher tries to over throw the ball. The drop is a pitch that must leave the pitcher's hand pretty fast and if she's got too much ball in her hand or gripping the ball too tight then the ball gets stuck, and loses its spin and as a result its break.
